History

Once upon a time ... in the wooded area of Westerlo, an Englishman named William John Dougan (Lord of Landkey, England) and his Belgian wife Lea had a plan to build a riding school.

Therefore, in 1978, they started to fell trees and building it with their own hands out of nothing.

History

Two years later, on the evening of April the 30th, 1980, the plan became reality, and indeed, the riding school consisting of a paddock, 17 stables and a small pub in the corner was a fact.
The Lord Landkey's Gipsy Horses Ranch was officially born.

In the picture you see William Henry Dougan (son of William John Dougan) in his younger years.

Today, the ranch has become a great western riding school with international fame, real working cattle, rodeo's and plenty of other action and opportunities. Please feel free to read all about it on this website.
